We offer professional and accurate assessments in Red Deer and Central Alberta in a comfortable and relaxing space that takes the stress, worry and discomfort out of the assessment process.

Types of Formal Assessments

  • ADHD/Social-Emotional Assessment

  • Psychoeducational Assessments (for school and learning)

  • Gifted Assessment

  • Post-Secondary Assessment

  • PDD/AISH Assessment

The assessment process includes

  • An intake meeting

  • Cognitive testing social/emotional testing consultation with your child’s teacher (if applicable)

  • Scoring and interpretation

  • Full written report with recommendations

  • A feedback meeting.

  • A well designed assessment will help you understand why specific challenges exist in your life, at work or in school. A structured plan to reduce these difficulties so that you or your child/adolescent can have a much more positive experience at school, work, home, and with friends.

  • You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist in private practice. Clients are welcome to contact us through email hello@socialshiftwellness.com, or through this website.

  • Many insurance plans cover all or parts of a formal assessment. However, we encourage you to check with your provider for specific details.

  • The first appointment is an opportunity for a psychologist to meet you and talk about how they are able to support you. This is also an opportunity to have a safe space to ask any questions. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, unless otherwise planned and agreed upon.
