Low-Cost Therapy Options at Social Shift

There isn’t one version of affordable therapy at Social Shift.

Our collective includes therapists at different stages of their careers, which allows us to offer different fee options depending on the therapist you work with.

$50 Accessible Therapy Sessions

Our Accessible Therapy program offers $50 therapy sessions with supervised therapist interns.

Our interns are completing their Master’s level courses in Counselling Psychology and provide counselling under the supervision of Registered therapists.

Working with an intern can be a great option if cost has made it difficult to access therapy, you don’t have insurance coverage, your benefits have run out, or you simply need a more affordable way to attend therapy consistently.

Reduced-Cost Therapy With Licensed Therapists

We also have licensed and registered mental health professionals who offer lower-cost therapy options within the Social Shift collective.

Fees vary depending on the therapist, their designation and the service being provided.

If you would prefer to work with a licensed therapist but cost is a consideration, reach out to us. We can help you explore the options currently available within our team.

Frequently Asked Questions About Affordable Therapy

Is lower-cost therapy the same quality of care?

1

Affordable therapy doesn’t mean therapy matters any less. Our lower-cost options are offered by both licensed mental health professionals and therapist interns. Interns are completing advanced professional training and work with clients while receiving ongoing clinical supervision and consultation.

What does it mean to work with a therapist intern?

2

Therapist interns are completing the supervised clinical portion of their professional training. They bring current education, curiosity and intention to their work while being supported by experienced clinical supervisors. Our intern sessions are offered at a reduced rate of $50 per session, making consistent therapy more accessible.

Do I have to work with an intern to access lower-cost therapy?

3

No. Social Shift also has licensed and registered mental health professionals who offer reduced-cost therapy options. Fees and availability vary by therapist, so if cost is important to you, let us know and we can help you find the best available option.

How do I know which therapist to choose?

4

You don’t have to figure that out on your own. Tell us a little about what you’d like support with, your availability, whether you prefer in-person or virtual therapy, and your budget. Our team can help connect you with a therapist whose experience, approach and fee are a good fit.

Not Sure Who to Book With?

That’s okay.

You don’t need to read every therapist bio in great detail and somehow determine who is going to be the perfect fit.

Tell us what you're looking for, whether you prefer in-person or virtual therapy, your availability and whether you’re looking for a particular price range.

We’ll help you figure out the rest.
