Amanda Maetche

(She/Her)

Registered Social Worker (MSW - #13029)

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure about where to begin. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are - whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or simply tired of carrying everything on your own…

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, and substance use. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood. Becoming a parent can be one of the most meaningful experiences in life, but it can also be one of the most challenging. There can be so much pressure to enjoy every moment or feel like you have it all together. If that hasn’t been your experience, this can be a place to talk about it openly, without fear of judgment.

Before moving into private practice, I spent several years working in Children’s Services and later in Correctional Mental Health. During that time, I worked alongside individuals and families navigating trauma, addiction, mental health concerns, crisis, and involvement with multiple systems. Those experiences strengthened my ability to remain calm during difficult conversations, approach each person with empathy and curiosity, and see beyond the circumstances that brought them to that moment. They also reinforced something I continue to believe today: every person has a story, and no one should be defined by the hardest chapter of their life.

I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach or a quick fix. My role isn’t to tell you what to do – it’s to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and find practical ways to move toward the life you want. I’ll tailor our work to your goals, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems (IFS)/Parts Work, and trauma-informed practice.

I know talking about difficult things can feel intimidating. My hope is that this becomes one place where you don’t have to pretend you’re okay or worry about being judged. Some sessions will be emotional, some will focus on problem-solving, and sometimes we’ll even laugh. However they unfold, my goal is for you to leave feeling more understood, more hopeful, and with greater confidence in moving forward.

If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, genuine, and willing to have the conversations that matter (even when they’re difficult) I would love the opportunity to work alongside you.
