Britney Smith

(She/Her)

Certified Clinical Counsellor (CCC - 11265968)

Trauma, anxiety, and burnout can feel debilitating and affect every area of life. I support clients who feel overwhelmed or disconnected from their sense of purpose and control, with a special interest in working with health care workers. Drawing on my own health care experience, I understand the pressures of the profession and support clients in prioritizing their mental health and well-being while continuing to care for others.

Whether your trauma is connected to workplace experiences or personal events, I offer a compassionate, personalized space tailored to your unique experiences and needs. Using a trauma-informed and humanistic approach, I help clients build resilience, recognize their inner strengths, and move toward healing. Whether you need space to sit with difficult emotions or time to talk things through, I’m here to meet you where you are.

My approach is also informed by a special interest in Adlerian-inspired therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Adlerian therapy focuses on helping clients build a sense of control, purpose, and belonging, while supporting them in recognizing their value and finding meaningful ways to connect with themselves and others. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a trauma-specific approach that uses eye movements to help clients process distressing experiences and replace painful images with calmer, more positive ones.

I also offer animal-assisted therapy as part of my practice. Animals can bring a calm, supportive presence into the therapeutic space and help create a non-judgemental environment where clients feel accepted, grounded, and able to simply be themselves. If you would like Jeffery the Corgi to join your session, I would be happy to include him.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our three dogs, Violet, River, and, of course, Jeffery, who means the world to me. I love being outdoors, going for walks, attending concerts, and spending time with family.
